Goods-in-transit insurance

Cover your cargo, bolster your business – with goods-in-transit insurance arranged by Marsh.

Key product highlights

Crashed or overturned vehicle

Accidents are common. And they can ruin even the most well-secured cargo – especially if the vehicle gets overturned. Whether it’s with a stable force or another moving vehicle, we can help cover the consequential costs of collision and overturning.

Theft and vandalism

If your goods are reasonably secured – like inside of a locked car or garage – we can help cover replacement and repair costs of stolen cargo. Similarly, we can arrange a policy for vandalism and malicious damage while your cargo is on the move.

Natural disturbances

Nature is unpredictable. If your transport items are damaged or destroyed during a natural event – like a hailstorm, fire or earthquake – goods-in-transit insurance can help. We can arrange a policy to cushion the financial fallout of environmental damage.

Accidental damage

A typical goods-in-transit policy has accidental damage as a core inclusion. Starting from the loading dock and ending at the drop-off point, goods-in-transit insurance can cover damage caused by en route accidents or even malfunctioning refrigeration machinery.

Dropping cargo

The journey to the drop-off point might be smooth and simple. But some accidents happen at the end. Goods-in-transit insurance can provide coverage for goods dropped while loading and unloading – or cargo that spills out of an open shipping container.

Fire

Fire can break out in many ways. A disastrous accident is one example – but bushfires, lightning, fuel leaks and electrical faults can happen unexpectedly. Goods-in-transit insurance can cover any goods that are damaged or destroyed during an inferno.
